The works titled Passport; Identity Mutations; Introspection  and Anonymous, belong to the series Puzzles (Rompe Cabezas) where I intend to show the feelings of these people, their anguish and the psychological conflict, resulting from insecurity regarding the future of their lives and that of their loved ones.

The passport-type photographs that I use in the Puzzles Series (Rompe Cabezas) I have taken of emigrants who flee their countries because they are in great danger to their lives.

It is possible that most of them will be accepted as refugees indefinitely, others only temporarily and the most unfortunate will be deported to their countries of origin. They often tell me their stories, many of them totally heartbreaking.

I use different facial disorientation techniques, especially for children who experience these tragedies.

Passport

Each image contains multiple stories that intermingle and grow in different directions related to family, friends, and new acquaintances.

Identity Mutations

The adaptation of individuals who are forced to emigrate and who end up in territories with different cultures is not so simple. The unconscious conflict between the ingrained and the new social demands of their new environment is slow, silent but inevitable.

Adapting to the new meanings of language and body expressions will once again guide the tool that will continue to shape their identity over time.

Anonymous

Today the anguish and insecurity is much greater for people who are in legal limbo caught in the process of their application for asylum or refuge, while this new invisible enemy spreads to the lives of humans, anywhere. and at any time.

Introspection

Photographs that form three-dimensional geometric figures. Inspired by the shape of the cube and that only part of it can be seen, because it is embedded in the plane of the floor or wall.

Each cube has a visual entrance that communicates with its interior, illusory through the reflections of the mirrors on its surface. Represents the psychological situation of migrants during their legal process. It is certainly not possible to see if the cube is sinking, stabilized or rising. It depends on the weight you carry inside you and the gravity of the space where you are.
